Cross Asenovgrad is an excellent and easy way to get familiar with mountain running for those who are now discovering the sport.
We have tried to select a route that is close to the maximum length of the standard half-marathon – 21 100 m – but unfortunately this is not always possible. Similarities with the familiar road races however end here! The route of Cross Asenovgrad has a total elevation gain of 1 350 meters, almost exclusively on mountain paths and trails and allows participants who still do not feel confident enough in their strength and abilities to experience the magic of the Persenk Ultra experience and the beauty of the Rhodopes.
